Help Lillian with her Transition

Hi! My name is Lillian, and I am raising funds to pay for my gender confirming surgery.

The surgery costs $3000 but I won't be able to work for a few weeks after that, so I'm asking for an additional $1000 to help with utilities and groceries while I recover.

I have known since I was little that there was something different about me. It took a long time for me to understand what was going on. I spent most of my teens feeling confused by the thoughts and feelings in my head, and I spent countless nights praying that I would wake up with a body that better matched how I felt inside. Watching my body change into a more masculine form was it's own kind of torture, and I felt powerless to stop it.

I thought I would be trapped in it forever, at least until I realized that I wasn't the only person suffering thru this, and that there was a name for what I was feeling. With the help of my therapist, I came to realize and accept that I am transgender, and that the distress that I have been feeling was gender dysphoria.

The American Psychiatric Association (APA) defines the term transgender as "When a person whose sex assigned at birth (i.e. the sex assigned by a physician at birth, usually based on external genitalia) does not match their gender identity (i.e., one’s psychological sense of their gender)", and Gender Dysphoria as "the psychological distress that results from an incongruence between one’s sex assigned at birth and one’s gender identity."
