Help Lillian and Matthew through this tough time
Baby Annalise Willamina Walter was born August 13th 2021 at 6:20 PM to Mom (Lillian) and Dad (Matthew). A perfect little addition to a happy home.
Mom and baby were enjoying quality time together when mom noticed something was off. A trip to the hospital turned into a trip to the NICU and several exams. That night baby Annalise was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA). In transposition of the great arteries, the origins of the main arteries leading away from the heart — the aorta and the pulmonary artery — are switched (transposed). The doctors have said that is a fixable and fairly common diagnosis happening with 1 out of every 100 babies. Even though it is common and reversible, there is still a long road ahead for Annalise and family. She underwent a heart surgery to create a hole in her heart wall to allow some kind of blood flow. She needs another surgery in the coming week to repair the transposed arteries. The doctors are certain that this next surgery will repair the blood flow issue and she'll be okay in the long term. She will need to be monitored in the hospital for approximately 1 month, and under doctors care for the next year or more. Throughout the year of doctors care there will be doctors appointments, discussions, and treatments to make sure Annalise will be the strong healthy child God intended her to be.
With all that being said... Mom and Dad still have 2 small children at home to love and a household to maintain. There have been some talks about The Ronald McDonald House providing a place for Mom and Dad, or just Mom or just Dad (depending on how this all works out). A month long stay in the hospital will keep them out of work and away from home. There will be traveling from Cobleskill to Albany, Mortgage, utilities, groceries, etc.. Any funds raised will go directly towards Matthew and Lillian and helping them keep things afloat through this trying and troubling time.
Sometimes money isn't an option for folks. That is okay! Stop by their house, and mow the lawn, trim the weeds. Maybe you're not into these fund type things, if you have their address order some grocery delivery. Prayers are always welcome, and helpful. These are just some ideas off the top of the head, but when I say anything helps I mean anything helps. The fundraiser goal is set for only $100 because it truly doesn't matter how much . Any kind of help is appreciated beyond words!
