Hello!

I'm Lili Rochelle, a full-time artist and curator based out of NYC. I began my artist journey back in 2022 when I realized that nothing quite fueled my soul like being able to share my creations with the world. Back in August 2024, I started my journey as a curator, creating the “Outside Outside” collective—a space in which street artists, gallery artists, designers, photographers, and musicians could all come together to do what we do best—CREATE!

After living off my art for 2 years, I realized the challenges that come with it. From working with galleries that were out to profit off of you, to being in spaces in which I didn’t truly feel valued or seen for what I was bringing to the table. I wanted to create something better for the artists of this city. A space in which people could show up authentically, where artists didn’t have to pay their last dime to showcase their work, and where the creative community could come together and build outside of ego and create spaces where we truly felt safe and valued.

Since taking over the Green Oasis Community Garden to curate my first show in August, I’ve since curated 10 group showcases featuring 15+ artists and 2 solo shows, working with galleries and underground art organizations all over NYC. In doing so, I’ve discovered this deep love for being able to create spaces for the creative community to come and express themselves and build with their peers. And I’ve found that nothing fuels me more than being able to represent artists that I truly believe in and believe deserve as many eyes on their work as possible.

Now, my new dream is to open my own gallery space. A place where we don’t have to rely on other galleries and event spaces to hold our art, a space that serves the underground community of creatives, and a place that serves as a third space for the artists of NYC. It’s my dream to be able to offer week to month long showcases for artists without them having to break the bank. To be able to put on weekly events where the community can come together to celebrate one another. A space in which artists can work out of and see their creations hanging for all collectors to come and see.

I wouldn’t be where I am without the community of artists that I’ve met along the way, and it’s my mission to uplift them in any way I can. But in order to do so, I need your help! I’ll be raising money this summer so that opening such a space can become a reality. So that come next winter, we’ll be able to make this dream a reality and have a place that is safe for us to gather and celebrate our artistry without relying on outside spaces. I can’t wait to work together to watch us all grow!
