As a close friend of the family, i have created this go fund me in hopes of relieving the family of the financial stress of this traumatic, and heartbreaking situation.

On 28/03 Lilah was sadly a victim of a devastating hit and run. Lilah was rushed to the emergency vet to receive live saving care. Lilah suffered extensive trauma to her skin, including a large wound that ran from her back down to her right side of her body, and into her right groin and down her right leg. This resulted in much of the skin around the area dying, which meant that some of her injuries were too extensive to close by surgery. Lilah stayed in the ICU at the vet for one week, during this time she received surgery, pain medication, antibiotics, fluids and continuous treatment for her wounds.

The financial impact has been overwhelming for the family, amounting to over $15,000 after the first week.

The costs are ongoing. Lilah is now at home but requires ongoing care such as medication, wound care and dressings. Lilah is recovering well and her prognosis continues to improve each day. However, as her skin continues to heal, she may need more surgery to close her wounds if they cannot close by themself.

Considering the extent to Lilahs injuries, she has shown incredible strength. She truly is a little fighter, and her recovery so far has been very impressive.

Lilah is deeply loved by her family, she brings comfort, support, and much joy to her family. She also shares a special bond with her brother Leo, who has been by her side through all of it.
