Hi everyone,
We're fundraising for Lil to get top surgery this year! Lil has wanted this for a long time, and as their friends and community we're here to help make it happen.
You already know the drill - getting top surgery through a Gender Identitiy Clinic in the UK involves waiting times of up to 10 years, and it's increasingly impossible for most trans people to get the surgery without going to private clinics. Additionally, due to the nature of Lil's work as an NHS hero, they have a really limited window in the year where they can take enough leave to get and recover from surgery.
Really excitingly, they have the opportunity to get top surgery abroad this summer! So we're fundraising for our pal, who does so much for everyone around them and is finally taking the step to get life changing gender affirming surgery.
Transparently: the cost of surgery is currently £4,500. We're asking for £6,000 to also cover flights, accommodation, and any unforeseen circumstances. If any extra money isn't used it will be donated on.
