Dear Friends,
We urgently need your help to save the life of a young kitten named Little Bit aka Runt. This past Sunday, Lil' Bit was rushed to VCA Animal Emergency Hospital due to sudden paralysis, significant weight loss, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhea.
Lil’ Bit (Runt) was born October 16th. He was originally rejected by his momma so he had to be bottle fed by the rescuer, Ryan Busch. He fought to gain weight and was barely 2 pounds when he was close to 4 months old. Lil' Bit is a handsome Russian Blue mix with white on the tip of his back toes and on his chest. He was scheduled to be neutered last Tuesday but he fell ill. The night before he was rushed toVCA, he must have fallen from the cat tree due to his weakness. By the time we got him to VCA, he had lost about a half of a pound and he could not walk. This was this past Sunday morning. Before knowing his fate, we had to put down a $1600 deposit. We left Lil' Bit at VCA overnight while he fought for his life. He had an IV for fluids due to dehydration and kidneys, an anti-nausea for the vomiting and a steroid due to inflammation from the fall. His back legs and tail were (temporarily) paralyzed.
The veterinarian, Dr. Sanchez, at VCA informed us that without immediate and costly medical intervention, Lil Bit's chances of survival were slim. He had an infection and his kidney function levels were very elevated. We were discussing euthanasia. He had so many problems. But, due to his young age and fighting spirit, we decided to do everything to give this little one a fighting chance. After 24 hours, he gained feeling in his legs and was able to support his weight for a few seconds. But his fight continued at Angel Animal Hospital in Pasadena for the next three days.
Little Bit will need continued supportive care for his kidneys. We need your help! We spent $2100 at VCA in League City and $1300 at Angel Animal Hospital in Pasadena.
We are reaching out to our community for support in covering the expenses for Lil Bit's emergency vet and 3 day hospitalization at Angel Animal Hospital ($3,400 total) and future supportive care. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in helping us provide the future care he desperately needs.
