Through serendipity, Kyle and Chanel crossed paths while living in Kelowna, BC; he was from Woodstock, Ontario, and she was from Perth, Australia. 

In May 2019 Kyle moved to Australia to build a life with Chanel.  In preparation for Chanel's return to school in the fall, they got summer jobs at a ski resort. 

On Monday, June 24, Chanel had an unexpected accident. She fractured her neck and had to be airlifted to Sydney to undergo immediate surgery. Chanel has since woken up and is in great spirits, but her mobility is so far limited, and she has a long and unpredictable road to recovery ahead. 

Kyle has been by her side since the accident, and as a result found himself unexpectedly in Sydney with few belongings and limited boarding options. When Chanel is stable enough, she will be airlifted to Perth. Kyle will eventually follow, but must return to the resort first to collect their belongings. 

The accident has left Kyle shelling out funds he was not prepared to spend in order to stay by Chanel's side during her recovery, and only a month after he picked up his life and moved across the world.

As his family and friends, we want to ensure that Kyle can focus on Chanel. To help, we'd like to alleviate some of his stress by lightening his load a bit.

If you are able, please give generously so that Kyle does not have to worry about hotel stays, transit requirements, or anything else that either he or Chanel will require between now and her return to Perth. 

This is a young couple in the prime of their lives bravely facing the unknown. Let's help keep their focus on Chanel's recovery.
