This festive season, we invite you to be part of something magical.

The Soho Kids Xmas Lights project, now in its fifth year, is a joyful, community-led celebration that transforms the streets of Soho into a glowing gallery of light — designed by children, for everyone.

Founded and co-produced by Antonio Capelao in partnership with Soho Parish Primary School, and co-produced by Architecture for Kids CIC, this initiative places children at the heart of public space, creativity, and community pride.

What Your Donation Supports

We’re raising £5,000 to help fund:

Production and installation of 6 new bespoke LED light panels

The public switch-on event on 19th November 2025, featuring music, awards, and community celebration

Materials, logistics, and technical support to safely light up Soho

Educational partnerships with RIBA Learning, National Ga;;ery, Frith Street Gallery, and more

Why It Matters

Each year, pupils from Reception to Year 5 at Soho Parish Primary School take part in four days of creative workshops exploring themes like Lighting, Identity of Place, and this year’s special focus: Women in Soho.

With guidance from architects, historian, and educators, children research local history, reflect on their identities, and design imaginative light panels. A jury of community members selects six winning designs, which are then transformed into glowing artworks displayed across Soho — alongside 55 panels from previous years.

The result? A radiant, child-led exhibition that brings joy, pride, and a sense of belonging to the heart of London.

The Big Switch-On

On Wednesday, 19th November at 6pm, the community will gather for the official switch-on event, with special guest The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Paul Dimoldenberg, and awards presented by RIBA. It’s a night of celebration, creativity, and connection — and we’d love your help to make it happen.
