6 years ago, my son said to me..."Mom, I want a pit bull." At first, I was completely against it until he finally convinced me! We searched online and found an 8-week-old pit bull puppy up for adoption at Friends of Strays in St. Pete and rushed to see him. Light was born in Georgia; his mom was killed, and this organization rescued him and his sister and brought them to Florida. When they introduced us to him, I swear he looked like a little alien with a huge head, tiny body, and beautiful light green eyes... but my son fell in love! That same day we brought him home, and my son named him Light. It was not long before Light started stealing my heart, and now, he is without a doubt the LIGHT OF MY (OUR) LIFE! My heart is his! I never completely understood emotional support pets, but let me just say - he is mine. I need Light more than he needs me. And right now, Light needs all of us! Yesterday, 11/11/24, we were given the horrible news that Light has cancer (lymphoma) and needs chemo treatment ASAP. We cannot imagine our lives without Light... I cannot imagine my life without Light! Please help us save Light so that he can enjoy our family a few more years! So that we can spoil him even more. So that we can give him an even bigger and better best life.
