Last Monday night, February 15, 19 year old Jacob Serrano was senselessly killed in a drive-by shooting in Pomona. This was an unprovoked incident, as he was in the front of his house talking to his girlfriend. There has not been a motive established and the incident is still under investigation.

Our hearts cry out for the family, including Jacob's mother, Ms. Maria, who is a teacher at Kiddie Academy of Pasadena. Jacob was the rock of the family, and he was dedicated to helping his single mother raise his siblings, the youngest of whom was in the hospital at the time of his passing. He was a responsible and dependable young man, always ready to help when needed. He was a grounds maintenance worker for Kiddie Academy, and was a reliable and dedicated worker. He was extremely close to his siblings and extended family members, including his 6-year old little brother who also attends Kiddie Academy.

Please help to lift up this family with prayers and support during this time of pain and loss. We would like to help raise funds to cover his funeral service (usually around $6,000-$6,500) and other expenses that the family will be incurring as they grieve. Jacob did everything to help the household run, even during the toughest times. He was also a key source of income for the family. It is a tragic and unexpected loss and the family will need lots of support.
