Help lift the financial burden from this family

Hello all. First, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read about this fundraiser that is so incredibly important to me and those who have had the pleasure of knowing Skyler.

I don't want to write a sob story but that is just about what it is and I apologize in

advance. Skyler Rose is my best friend and I want him to be by my side when I marry the

woman I love. Unfortunately, I'm not as positive that'll be a possibility after the last few

months that he has let people closer to him know of his situation. Skylers’ diagnosis is stage 4

Melanoma, recently though it was discovered that it has metastasized to his

bones, liver and lungs and has been bumped from his original plan of 1 round of radiation to 5. It is a truly devastating realization

that someone so close to you could be in such a situation and I can only imagine what his

partner and family are going through at this time. Skyler and Jessica also recently had a baby,

Dimitri the light of both of their lives and to get this news so soon after is just unbearable and I

honestly have no idea how they are getting through this. I myself would not be strong enough to

get up everyday but he has found a way and is doing it with a positive outlook still caring for his

child and others and still putting a smile on the face of everyone he interacts with which makes

my love for him even stronger. I don't want to go to much into detail about how this could have

been missed by the multiples of doctors that he saw over the last year and let it progress to this

point but I'm sure plenty of you have had your own experiences with doctors that have not

thought their patients were worthy enough to put time or effort into, some even writing him off as a

young 26 year old male with no pre existing conditions and not even bothering to check the

issues he was having. I would rather not dwell on that though as it will only make my energy go

from positive and supportive to just plain angry. I know neither of them would ask for monetary

donations but being so close to them I know they will be needing all the help they can get, not

just for the medical bills but for regular life expenses, obviously in a situation like this not only is

Skyler mostly unable to work but Jessica is having to take large amounts of time off to get him to

his appointments, treatments and to take care of the things Skyler is not able to plus an 8 month

old baby. So I will ask for them, anything you can offer to help this family that was truly just

starting to live their best life and had it crumble away would go a long way. Keep them in your

thoughts, pray that they find a way through this and give whatever you are able, thank you.
