Update: Mutual Aid Request: I’m So Close—Please Help Me Cross the Finish Line

This is a very hard thing to share, and not something I want to do. But I’ve been trying to keep my head above water, and I’m drowning. Most of you don’t know this, but I’ve been hit with a devastating legal hold on my bank account after a credit card debt I couldn’t pay was taken to court. I was unemployed for almost two years, and just as I was starting to get back on my feet, this has knocked me down again. I’m exhausted, burned out, and fighting every day to stay afloat.

Here’s the reality: If I don’t meet this goal, I risk wage garnishment, threatening my job security and my ability to provide for myself and my family. I’ve already lost access to my bank account for nearly a month, and the money trapped there will go toward the total balance I owe. I won’t get it back in my pocket once the hold is lifted. I’m living on the barest of means, and I’m so close to being able to resolve this and move forward.

A group of beloved people in my life have set up a GoFundMe to help me through this: I’m almost halfway to my goal, but I need your help to get the rest of the way. If just 184 people donate $25, I can pay off this debt, regain access to my account, and avoid further financial disaster. If you can give more, it would mean the world.
