Hes been there for you and your family...Now it's time to be there for him and his family.
Lieutenant Todd Ouellette and his family need our help. Todd was recently diagnosed with a medical condition that required extensive abdominal surgeries and it has left him unable to work, with short term disability. This has set his family back financially and they need everyone's help.
Todd's story:
August 6th, while at work I had a medical emergency where I had to be transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital. I ended up being diagnosed with complicated diverticulitis with an abscess on my colon. I was admitted for a week in the hospital to drain the abscess and try to get the diverticulitis under control. Unfortunately, they couldn't get it under control. As a result, I had to be out of work as I continued to have multiple episodes.
I was scheduled for surgery on September 27th. The procedure was supposed to be done laperoscopicly, but ended up having to create an incision from my rib cage to below belly button. I was supposed to be there 3-5 days, but due to many complications, I wound up being admitted for 15 days total.
When I got home another abscess formed on the outside of my intestines and had to go back in to have a drain installed. While there they performing that procedure, they found that my large incision was infected. This meant that I had to go down for immediate surgery again where they installed a drain and a bag for the infection. Now I'm out of work until at least Thanksgiving. So I've been out since August 6th until the week of November 28th and I'm getting less than 1/3 of my pay while trying to support a family of 9.
My wife has had to take a lot of time off to help and when she isn't, visiting nurses are in twice throughout the week.
