Help Lidia enjoy the rest of her life

Hi, my name is Crystal and I’m trying to help my dear friends Lidia and Alfredo live their best life.

Alfredo is one of my co-workers and he’s been working for the restaurant over 10 years as a dish washer. Much to our surprise, last week we’ve been told that he needed to quit the job to go back to their home country as soon as possible with his wife Lidia, we found out that he’s been keeping his wife’s medical condition as a secret, sharing without anybody at work.

Lidia was diagnosed with bone cancer about 3 years ago. She has been getting treatment for that since then. And just a few days ago, they got the devastating news that there is nothing left the doctors can do. The doctors have given her only a few months.

Lidia wants to spend the rest of her life in her home country with her husband as her final wish. Alfredo is 75 years old and considering his age, he can’t work too much. And I know that he doesn’t make a lot of money in our restaurant. Also Lidia couldn’t work for a long time due to her condition.

They had to spend most of their savings for flight tickets, which is extremely expensive due to the pandemic and hotels for quarantine. When imagining they would be struggling financially for the rest of their life in their home, it breaks our hearts. All my co-workers have already donated some money for them, but I know it’s not going to be nearly enough for them to carry on with for the rest of their days. Their family members there can only provide them with emotional support, no financial support, at all.

So I’m asking for any help you could give. If anyone would like to donate any amount, It goes directly to Alfredo, and with that help, he and his wife can have a peaceful life there for whatever time they have left to spend together.
