Help Lida care for Hossein after tragic accident
Donation protected
I met Lida and Hossein shortly after they came to the United States as refugees with their two sons. Lida and I instantly bonded and have been best friends for nearly 25 years. I've watched this woman work so hard, learning English, learning to drive, becoming a U.S. citizen, and putting herself through beauty school to earn her license as a stylist, all while caring for her disabled son and a younger son and assisting her husband in his business as a tiler and marble setter.

While their marriage ultimately ended in divorce, she has continued to be a blessing to her ex-husband especially at this dire time of need when Hossein barely survived a horrific car accident. Because of his struggle with English, Lida took off of work to make many trips from Marietta to Tennessee where Hossein was hospitalized. After several weeks, he was transferred to a Marietta rehabilitation center so she could more easily be present to translate for Hossein and medical personnel.
It has been physically, emotionally, and financially draining for Lida to look after Hossein during this long and traumatic situation. Hossein's injuries are so severe, it will be six months at the earliest before he can even begin to put weight on his legs where the bones have been shattered. The ongoing doctor appointments (including returning to Tennessee to have more procedures done), rehabilitation and ultimately needing a place to go where he can begin to walk and get strong enough to one day work, have all fallen on Lida's shoulders.
Many people have asked how they can help. Of course, Lida asked only for prayers, but realistically, she cannot afford to take on the financial burden that is required to continue caring for Hossein and to make her house wheelchair accessible for the time when Hossein will need a transitioning place to live. The income lost already, and what she will continue to lose in order to care for Hossein, is probably more than we are asking during this gofundme campaign, but it is critical she has our support.
If you know Lida, she is probably the most hardworking and proud woman you've ever met. And to take on the tremendous responsibility of caring for the father of her children during this long and difficult journey, shows the depth of her loving heart. Please donate as are you able and know that you are helping an amazing woman.
