Update as of March 11, 2020
I have found an apartment in Pictou, NS and I will be moving the week of the 15th of March. I am quite excited by this change in location because I have always been enchanted by Pictou and the apartment is big enough that should my family/friends want to come to visit I can actually offer them a room.
A huge thank you to all who have made it possible for me to even consider to be able to afford to move.
I'm still working on financing the u-haul rental and with having to pay a security deposit and first month rent in Pictou and last month rent here in Halifax plus set-up cost for internet etc I'm struggling to make it possible.
If there is anyone who can help me make this happen, all contributions are greatly appreciated.
Blessings to all,
Elizabeth
Update as of January 25, 2020
I have had to reconsider my desire to move back to Ontario. Starting over in a new province is not easy. My son knows how much I love living in Nova Scotia and is concerned that I will not have the network of friends that I've established over the last 23 years that I've lived here. This campaign has made it clear to me that I have an amazing soul tribe family scattered around the world but predominantly based right here in Nova Scotia. I am very grateful to all who have supported me in my attempt to relocate to Ontario.
I am still looking for a new home but it will have to be somewhere here in Nova Scotia.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Blessings to all,
Elizabeth
Update for this campaign as of January 12, 2020
I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this campaign. I have realized over the course of this week that it would be a lot wiser for me to move with only what I can fit in my car. This will mean letting go of the few items of furniture I still have and really lightening up from those few possessions that hold many sweet memories. It is now clear to me it is beyond time for me to let go of stuff.
A lot of revelations have come up for me this week.
This campaign has really helped me to see how many people do care about my well-being and I am so grateful to have had this experience. I want to thank Mandee Labelle who is a kindred spirit and the beautiful soul who strongly but gently steered me to this fundraiser site.
I will keep the campaign up for a little longer but I know with the $1,030. raised up to this point that I will be able to afford to move to Ontario if I just take what fits in my car and don't have to wonder where to store anything once I get to Lanark.
I was amazed at how quickly GoFundMe made sure I received the funds. I would definitely recommend them for your own campaigns if you ever need to do a fund raiser.
Thank you to all who shared this campaign and to all who contributed in whatever way. You have filled my heart with great appreciation for the goodness of humanity.
Namaste

Hello,
My name is Libby. I am a 67 year-old woman from Montreal, who currently lives in Nova Scotia, Canada. I taught yoga along the Eastern Shore 2002-2012 and was also a craftswoman and a part time substitute teacher for the Acadian Schoolboard (Ecole Carrefour). I have loved most of my 23 years in Nova Scotia but since I lost my home in 2013, I have been struggling with many issues including the recent loss of my best friend and room mate and trying to find a new place to live.
In 2008, I developed Basal Cell Carcinoma on my nose. This has had a devastating impact on my ability to work and function in a public environment. Slowly this disease has rendered me more and more reclusive. I have to move in April so I am reaching out for help from my friends and family and anyone who might want to help me get back to Ontario.
It has become very important to me to now live closer to my son and grandchildren in Ottawa and my sister in Kingston. I need them and I want to be part of their lives. I am looking for ways to help make this happen. Any contribution will be extremely helpful.
I have found an opportunity in Lanark, Ontario where I can be of benefit to a community which really wants to make beneficial changes. There is a budding Earthship community, Talking Trees, being established and I am welcome there. I am hoping to gather enough support to get to Ontario so that I could establish myself there while participating in the unfolding of this community.
This is a time when I really need to make a change, please help me if you can with any amount great or small. I cant even begin to describe how grateful I would be for any assistance.
All donations will go towards:
- moving costs which includes U-haul rental, gas, other travelling expenses or shipping
- rent and utilities set-up
- one month buffer/safety net
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
