Help Liam Walk: Support His Surgery

Dear Friends, Family, and compassionate strangers, I am reaching out to everyone as a last resort to try and help my son walk, run, jump, and play sports like every other little boy growing up deserves. My son Liam is in major need of Achilles Tendon Lengthening Surgery. He has a very advanced case of toe walking, that is when a person walks on their tiptoes. The Doctor has informed me if my son does not get the surgery before he is a teenager he can have permanent damage done to his feet, legs, and lower back while also never being able to walk properly again let alone play sports.

My son loves to watch sports and he would LOVE to play sports. The NFL and the NBA are his favorites. His favorite football player is Brock Purdy. His favorite NBA player is Michael Jordan. I show him all the old games on YouTube. We also try and watch every 49ers game we can together to watch Brock Purdy play quarterback. My son wishes he could get outside with his friends to play football and basketball. But my son cannot even get his feet into his shoes, let alone cleats. Even if he could wear the cleats or basketball shoes, they hurt his feet so badly and he cannot walk. His balance and coordination are off from walking on his toes for the past 10 years. He has to wear a certain kind of flip flop to school and the older he gets, the more the kids are starting to notice he walks on his tiptoes and they are starting to make fun of him at school because of it.

We have been to multiple doctors and had many visits trying alternative methods to try and correct the problem. Finally, the doctor informed me the only way for Liam to walk normally in life is for him to have Toe Walking Surgery. As my son's full-time caretaker and father, this is a cry for help. My son deserves to play sports, he deserves to ride a bike down the street with his friends. Or to play kickball or basketball at school with his classmates. Also walking on his toes is starting to do other damage to other parts of his legs that will only get worse if corrected action and surgery is not taken.

The donations will be used for Physician Fee, Facility Fees, Anesthesia, Surgery, Doctor Visits. The specialist we are trying to have to do the procedure is located in Arizona Dr. Mikkel C. Jarman: Pediatric Podiatrist. He is widely recognized as a leading authority on pediatric podiatry. He is highly respected in his field and sought after for national and international consults by parents, podiatrists, and pediatric providers. Funds will also be used for travel to and from the clinic as well as time off work to take care of my son while he is recovering from the surgery.
