Help Liam Recover from a Devastating Scam

Hi everyone,

I never thought I’d be in a position to write something like this. Truthfully, I would never ask anyone for money, but after an overwhelming amount of support and encouragement from friends, family, and coworkers, I’ve decided to make this GoFundMe for those who wish to help.

Yesterday, I was scammed out of nearly all of my life savings. The true amount I am extremely embarrassed to share. My bank accounts have been frozen, and I currently have no access to my funds aside from the cash I had on hand. I was targeted by a sophisticated “spoofing” scam, where someone was able to mask their phone number to appear as an official government agency. They used fear and urgency to manipulate me and my bank accounts, and I fell for it. Everything I worked so hard for — gone in an instant.

I’m 24 years old, working two jobs, pushing through 12-hour days, and doing my best to stay afloat. I was just beginning to feel close to achieving financial independence. Now, I’m left unable to cover urgent financial obligations like rent, student loans, gas, and groceries. The stress of this situation is unimaginable.

This fundraiser is to help cover my immediate costs while I work with the proper channels to try and recover what was lost — a process I’ve been told may take months, if anything can be recovered at all.
