Help Liam Overcome Autism and PANDAS

Friends and family,

As many of you know, our son Liam currently has non-verbal autism. At around 16 months, our precious boy began to regress developmentally and was soon after diagnosed with autism. The simple words like “mommy” and “cup” that we once had as a young boy quickly became a memory as he grew and began missing milestones. Our nights were restless as he desired to be endlessly rocked. As we entered early schooling with this diagnosis, we soon met the heartbreak of failing to meet goals of his age group, such as sitting for mealtime or gripping a crayon for coloring time. Around 3 years old, we began taking him to a neurologist in Austin, who provided us a great understanding of what was going on with his body genetically. It was there that we were provided the supplements to help Liam’s body regulate. We learned that his body needed help falling asleep. We learned that he doesn’t methylate well. We learned his body has extremely high levels of inflammation, creating a really challenging environment for his brain to function properly. At present day, Liam struggles with being non-verbal and he has more recently been diagnosed with significant brain inflammation known as PANDAS.

At the end of the 2024 school year, it came to our attention that strep throat was going around school. As we entered the summer, it became evident that something was wrong with Liam. Though he showed no symptoms of strep throat, he began regressing yet again. After being potty trained for the previous 3 years, he went back into pull-ups full time. His mood became very irritable as we learned the asymptomatic strep had created PANDAS. PANDAS is an autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder that directly inflames the brain. This disorder brought about great suffering as Liam started developing tics, such as having Tourette’s, and compulsive behaviors like OCD. This made attending school extremely difficult as he could not regulate his mood and would have meltdowns. By Christmas break of 2024, we decided to pull him from school to give him a break from the demands of schooling and its environment. Needless to say, we as his parents were at a loss. But God has moved on our behalf.

It was during the Spring of 2025, while attending a weekly occupational therapy session at the school, we learned about a facility in Austin that was having remarkable success with all kinds of patients. From pain disorders, to brain damage, to chronic seizures and even autism; they were having incredible breakthroughs addressing inflammation (one of our greatest struggles) and the development of the brain. Their name is NeuroSolution Center of Austin and they specialize in creating neuroplasticity in the brain, which is essential for new connections to form and the brain to develop. We booked an appointment this summer and learned their protocol, their pricing, and expectations. This facility uses photobiomodulation therapies, VSEL IV therapies, occupational and speech therapy in an intensive repetitive structure over the course of two weeks. Following the two-week intensive, Liam is sent home with an at-home protocol to do. For Liam to do this protocol and home care plan, our family needs to raise $50,000.

While attending our initial visit at their clinic, our family felt an overwhelming sense of hope for the first time in a long time. Our case was no longer seen as an anomaly to these doctors. They specialize and work with families like ours regularly and see incredible and unbelievable results. As Liam’s parents, we want to do everything we can to give him the opportunity to go to this facility. We truly believe that these treatments can vastly change and improve Liam’s quality of life, and ours. We ask that you would prayerfully consider being a part of this journey with us. Finding this facility and having hope for recovery is nothing short of a miracle. We know that God has led us this far and He will continue to see Liam’s healing journey through.

Thank you all for taking the time to read his story!
