Hi, my name is Kelly and I am the mother of Liam Febres. Liam was born at 36 weeks on September 17th, 2021 due to a placental abruption. We were both rushed to the emergency room and Liam was delivered by emergency C-Section. Unfortunately, the doctor’s could not find a heart beat. After numerous tries, Liam was finally resuscitated and immediately placed on a cooling bed for 72 hours. Due to the abruption, Liam lost oxygen to his brain resulting in him being diagnosed with Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) and Cortical Vision Impairment (CVI). The treatment we are seeking is called Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment. This would help Liam become more alert, smile, focus, and even lengthen his chances on being able to walk and talk and finally be a happy, healthy boy. The treatment is located in Marrero Louisiana with Dr. Paul Harch and is not covered by insurance. I will also have to leave my job for this time away to be there with Liam. We are asking your help by donating anything possible to help meet our goal for this procedure and locating a home for us to stay for those two months of treatment. This experience was nothing short of a miracle through the grace of God our Father. I am thankful that my one and only son was saved and is able to be here with me today.
