On Wednesday the 20th of August my cousin Liam and his fiance Sadie saw their lives flip upside down as their apartment building in New Cross, London burned down due to a fire started in one of the flats below.

As scary as it is, they are both okay and got out in time - leaving with only the clothes on their back and one phone between them. Unfortunately this means many basic things such as clothes, photo ID, car keys (among everything else they owned, sentimental and valuable) are completely destroyed, with no hope of salvage from the condemned building.

The issue is only made worse by the fact that their wedding is due to take place less than two months after the fact on the 07/10/25. The dress which Sadie had been painstakingly working on for two months prior has unfortunately been lost to the fire also.

Though they're resistant to ask for help, I'm making this page with their permission as the mounting costs of replacing all essentials, let alone anything else is quickly becoming a huge financial burden.

They would like me to re-iterate that people should only donate if they absolutely can. They are very privileged to have great family and friends around them and will always have a warm bed to sleep in.
