Lia is a young dog who has spent nearly her entire life at Miami Dade Animal Shelter. Despite her sweet nature, she’s been returned five times, and each time she comes back, she’s heartbroken. The repeated returns have taken a toll on her spirit—she’s currently depressed and has little appetite, struggling to find hope in the shelter environment. Growing up in the shelter has made it hard for her to adjust to new environments, and she needs help learning how to trust and connect with people and other animals.

A group of volunteers who care deeply about Lia are coming together to raise the funds needed for her board and train program with AsherK9. This training will give her the structure and socialization she’s never had, helping her build confidence and learn the skills she needs to thrive outside the shelter. The sooner Lia can start, the better—she’s been waiting for a family since July 1st, 2024, and every day in the shelter makes it harder for her to adjust.

With the right support, Lia can finally break the cycle and find a forever home. After her training, we’ll work to match her with a family who understands her journey and can give her the love and stability she deserves. Your help will give Lia the second chance she’s been waiting for.
