My name is Christine, and I am asking for your help in helping my sweet niece, Lia, as she recovers in the hospital from multiple serious medical issues.

This fundraiser will help my sister, Cassandra, to be at the hospital with her only baby. Lia and Cassandra. It is a complete sentence; they go together like peanut butter and jelly, they are the completing piece of each other's puzzle. The yin to each other's yang. Meredith and Cristina. Lorelai and Rory.

Anyone who knows Lia knows what a fun, funny, compassionate, kind, and generous person she is. She loves animals, most especially her cat, Camilla. If you have known Lia for very long, you also know that she is a fighter; she has had so many awful experiences in her life and still remains hopeful about people.

In all transparency, because of all the things Lia has endured in her life, most notably the death of her father by suicide when she was 14, she learned to cope the easiest way she could, with alcohol. Alcohol has taken a terrible toll on Lia's body, and she has cirrhosis along with other medical issues currently. The medical staff has been so kind and caring, and we have seen some terrific improvements in Lia's condition.

One thing we do know is that having Cassandra here with Lia full-time is helping. This fundraiser is to allow Cassandra to be here with Lia. We all understand that this would be an easier situation if money were no issue, but I want to ensure that once Lia is well enough to go home, they will still have a home. Bills don't stop just because we have ill loved ones. All funds will go to Cassandra to allow her to spend time with Lia and to assist in getting Lia home when that time comes.
