Help Lexie Study Abroad & Earn Her BA Degree!

My name is Bianca, and I have personally known Lexie since 2009. Lexie focuses much of her time on helping everyone around her, so it is time we help Lexie reach her personal goal of studying abroad and completing her bachelor's degree at UC Santa Cruz!

 

In 2021, Lexie was accepted into her DREAM SCHOOL, UC Santa Cruz! She almost chose not to attend, but with encouragement from some of her best friends and family, she decided to follow her dream. Unfortunately, living in Tijuana and being a full-time caretaker for her husband Luis, who is disabled, it is nearly impossible for Lex to juggle work, school, self-care, and care-taking, while being the best mom she can be. I have known Lexie for over 10 years--she is exactly how she seems: vibrant, intelligent, humble, funny, as well as beautiful inside and out. A loving wife, full-time caretaker, a fantastic mom, and a loyal friend--Lexie is a wonder woman! But unfortunately, Lexie has never had an opportunity to travel and study abroad, one of her lifetime goals. So when presented with a chance to study abroad for 4-weeks, Lexie knew she wanted to go but was hesitant due to the cost.

 

I am creating this go-fund-me to support Lexie reach her goals of studying abroad and completing her degree at UC Santa Cruz (UCSC). Lexie has been attending school online due to COVID-19, which helped her since she didn't have the means to live in Santa Cruz and could not bring Luis since he does not have his USA citizenship. Unfortunately, UCSC will no longer offer online courses, so Lexie must attend in-person to complete her bachelor's degree in Philosophy. Completing one quarter at UC Santa Cruz costs over $25,000. Additionally, she is economically responsible for her family and her husband, Luis, does not receive any disability support. Lexie is striving for better education to earn a higher income and work towards emigrating her husband, Luis, to the USA, allowing him to have a genuinely accessible life. The money for the quarter in UCSC will go toward Luis' caregiving and needs. Traveling to study abroad costs over $5,000.
