On January 26, 2026, our beloved 16-year-old daughter Lexie was terribly injured in a devastating sledding accident. She was sledding with her friends down a very steep hill when she collided headfirst into a brick mailbox. She sustained a serious spinal injury. She had several spinal fractures that required an intensive 10-hour surgery to stabilize her spine. She also sustained a fractured pelvis, shoulder, and a few facial/skull bones.
She is currently in the ICU and will require long-term, intensive rehabilitation before she'll be able to walk again and use her arms fully. We are unsure how long we will be here as only time will tell and will be solely dependent on her progress.
Due to the icy weather conditions and our stay at the hospital, we have had to miss a lot of work. We need extra help with bills, gas, meals, and to cover any additional expenses for Lexie that may not be medically covered by her insurance during this incredibly painful time. There may also be things needed in the future to help her recovery go more smoothly...
I've never been one to ask for handouts, and I do my best to provide what I can for my kids, but this one I'm swallowing my pride and asking for anything anyone is willing to donate.
I understand times are hard, and everyone is struggling to make ends meet. I'm thankful to each and every person that's willing to support and pray for us through this time.
If you aren't able to contribute financially, sharing this page and keeping our family in your prayers is just as meaningful. The love, encouragement, and support from family, friends, and the community will go a long way in her healing journey.
