Help lexie go for some Intensive Therapy.

I'm sharing my Goddaughter's story to help her go to Therapy In Burlington, Ontario...

As most of you know, Lexie has low tone muscle ( Hypotonia) and Ceberal Palsy.

When lexie was born, doctors said she would most likely not be mobile (due to her brain abnormalities).

Lexie has been working so hard, as most you know, since my sister posts a lot of Lexie's journey with Ceberal Palsy. While Lexie is still quite behind, everyday she is getting stronger and learning something new.

Lexie follows Physio, Occupational therapy, and Speech therapy at the Moncton hospital. She does a lot of home therapy as well...

The therapy in Ontario specializes in special needs. Every child deserves to have access to this type of therapy, but of course it comes with a price tag.

Therapy sessions are 130$/h and they would need to rent a place to stay as well, for the weeks they are there.

With my sister currently not working, staying home to take care of Lexie with little to no help, it is impossible to bring her to this type of therapy. That is why I decided to share her story. I know that in our little community of people with big hearts, it's possible to achieve the goal to bring Lexie to Ontario for her to receive the therapy she deserves.

Smile therapy is an itensive therapy program where they help kids acheive BIG goals. My sister knows a few other moms who have gone, and the progress the kids make in a week is incredible.

My sister's goal is to help Lexie have more balance so she can sit independently, and hopefully one day stand up on her own. One goal at a time.

Comme la plupart d'entre vous le savent, Lexie a un faible tonus musculaire (hypotonie) et une paralysie cérébrale.

Quand Lexie est née, les médecins ont dit qu'elle ne serait probablement pas mobile (en raison de ses anomalies cérébrales).

Lexie a travaillé si dur, comme la plupart vous le savez, puisque que ma sœur partage une grande partie du parcours de Lexie avec sa paralysie cérébrale. Bien que Lexie soit encore assez en retard, chaque jour elle devient plus forte et apprend quelque chose de nouveau.

Lexie suit des cours de physiothérapie, d'ergothérapie et d'orthophonie à l'hôpital de Moncton. Elle fait aussi beaucoup de thérapie à la maison...

La thérapie en Ontario se spécialise dans les besoins spéciaux. Chaque enfant mérite d'avoir accès à ce type de thérapie, mais bien sûr, cela a un prix.

Les séances de thérapie coûtent 130 $/h et ils devraient également louer un logement pour les semaines où ils sont là.

Ma sœur ne travaillant pas actuellement, restant à la maison pour s'occuper de Lexie avec peu ou pas d'aide, il est impossible de l'amener à ce type de thérapie. C'est pourquoi j'ai décidé de partager son histoire. Je sais que dans notre petite communauté de personnes au grand cœur, il est possible d'atteindre l'objectif d'amener Lexie en Ontario pour qu'elle reçoive la thérapie qu'elle mérite.

La thérapie Smile est un programme de thérapie intensive où ils aident les enfants à atteindre de GRANDS objectifs. Ma sœur connaît quelques autres mamans qui sont allées, et les progrès que font les enfants en une semaine sont incroyables.

L'objectif de ma sœur est d'aider Lexie à avoir plus d'équilibre afin qu'elle puisse s'asseoir de manière autonome et, espérons-le, un jour se tenir debout toute seule. Un but à la fois.
