Please Help Matthew Heal and Help His Mom Hold Their Family Together
Matthew Mehler Rosario is a beautiful 13-year-old boy with a bright soul and a brave heart. Matthew is nonverbal and autistic. Like many autistic children, Matthew is a runner—he doesn’t understand danger the way others do.
On December 18th at 11:00 AM, Matthew ran out of his home and into traffic. In a moment that changed everything, he was struck by a car. His brother was right behind him and witnessed the entire accident. He stayed with Matthew, called 911, and his mom. He waited with him until his mom could ride with him in the ambulance. An image that a sibling should never have to carry.
Matthew’s mother, Lexie, was at work when she received the call every parent fears. She rushed to the scene and rode with the ambulance to Hershey Medical Center, where she has remained by Matthew’s side ever since.
Matthew is tough—stronger than anyone could imagine—but his road to recovery will be long. Doctors estimate 8–10 weeks of recovery, during which Matthew will require constant supervision, physical therapy, and mobility equipment, including a wheelchair and a walker. Because of his autism and communication limitations, his care needs are even greater.
Lexie is a single mother of four children who works three jobs just to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. Now, she is being forced to put her jobs on hold so she can care for Matthew full-time. This pause means lost income, mounting medical expenses, and unimaginable stress—on top of the emotional trauma her entire family is facing.
No mother should have to choose between caring for her injured child and providing for her family. No family should have to face something like this alone.
This fundraiser is to help Lexie cover:
• Lost wages during Matthew’s recovery
• Medical bills and therapy
• A wheelchair, walker, and other essential equipment
• Basic living expenses while she cannot work
Matthew needs time, care, and love to heal. Lexie needs support, compassion, and help to get through the hardest chapter of her life.
Please consider donating, sharing, or keeping this family in your prayers.
Every contribution—no matter the size—helps lift a small piece of this heavy burden.
Thank you for helping Matthew heal and for helping a mother stay strong for her children when she needs it most.❤️
