Hi my name is Dina and I am fundraising for my daughter, Lexi’s heart surgery. Almost 2 years ago , Lexi started having medical issues and was in and out of the hospital. Last November, she was referred to the Mayo where she has seen a Cardiologist. After lots of testing and a recent exploratory procedure, she has been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called a Myocardial Bridge. Simply put one of her arteries goes right through her heart when it's supposed to go around or over it. Each time her heart squeezes to pump blood, the band of muscle exerts pressure, constricts the artery, and reduces blood flow to her heart.

It has disrupted her life and left her with unrelenting chest pain, dizziness, blood pressure issues, and shortness of breath daily. The doctors have tried treating with different medications and IV fusions however this has not helped. She was recently hospitalized at the Mayo on Tuesday. Due to the severity of the bridge, surgery is now the best option in order to give her a quality of life. The cardiologist surgeon will be performing an open-heart surgery to try and correct the bridge. This is a major surgery and will require her to be in the ICU and recovery can be up to 3 months.

In faith, we are trusting God to heal her heart and make her whole. Lexi is 20 years old with dreams of a future that is full. She would love to start college and obtain a degree in Nursing. Let's get our girl's heart healed so she can start living her life.
