Help Lexi Beedy Beat Breast Cancer
This is the most gut-wrenching thing I’ve ever had to write, but here goes. On July 9th our beloved 27 year old niece, Lexi Beedy, was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with dermal lymphatic invasion Grade 3 Breast Cancer which has unfortunately compromised her lymph nodes. At age 9, Lexi lost her mother, Lisa, (age 42) to breast cancer. Lexi is more than a niece to Richard and I. Following the passing of her mother, the entire family took she and her bother, Chase, under our wings and consider them children of our own. Richard and I are fortunate to have her nearby to comfort her as best we can. Following this diagnosis, Lexi will be undergoing multiple tests to further understand exactly how advanced the cancer has progressed. Following a full body MRI, CT scan and full bone scan, irregularities were also discovered on her liver, lungs and ribs for which she will undergo a liver biopsy. During this time, she is remaining strong, spirited and reluctant to ask for help. That being said, she has recently started a new job and currently unable to work due to daily appointments and procedures. She has been blessed with the best boyfriend, Nick, anyone could ask for. He too has had to reduce his work hours which is only adding to their level of stress and anxiety. Nick has been by her side at literally every appointment with encouraging sentiments on how bright their future will be once they conquer this setback. The first cycle of chemotherapy began July 23rd, once a week for 12 weeks based on her current diagnosis. This is subject to change should they find the cancer has compromised the liver or any other parts of her body. While she is fortunate to have medical insurance, she will ultimately be forced to go on cobra due to the short period of time with her current employer, thus much higher insurance premiums. This is to help with living expenses and anything not covered by insurance as those bills are already beginning to pile up. Lexi needs to focus on beating this without worrying about anything else. With the support of her family and friends and given Lexi’s stubborn nature, she WILL beat this and come out stronger than ever before. Please don’t feel obligated if you simply can’t afford to donate. Emotional support, prayers and encouragement will also play a vital role in Lexi’s healing. We all love you Lexi! All funds will go directly to Lexi & Nick.
