Title:
Help Lewis Get His Autism Service Dog
Meet my nephew Lewis — a bright, curious, and loving 8-year-old boy in the 3rd grade. Lewis is autistic and nonverbal, which means he experiences the world in a unique way. He is also a twin, sharing a special bond with his sister Lana.
Lewis has an incredible passion for license plates and trucks — he can spend hours watching them go by, memorizing numbers, and lighting up when he spots a new one. But day-to-day life can still be overwhelming for him, with situations that can cause stress, anxiety, or sensory overload. Lewis doesn’t have a good sense of danger and has gotten in some pretty scary situations or close calls. Elopement has become a huge issue and a service dog will help to relieve some of that stress!
Recently, Lewis was approved for a life-changing opportunity — a specially trained autism service dog through 4 Paws for Ability, an organization that transforms the lives of children with disabilities. This dog will provide:
• Comfort and calming support during moments of sensory overload
• Help with safety and wandering prevention
• A bridge for communication and connection with others
• Unconditional love and companionship
The cost to train and place a service dog is $20,000, and Lewis’s family has already begun the journey to raise these funds. Once the goal is met, Lewis will be matched with his service dog — a process that takes about 2 years but will give him a partner for life.
We’re asking for your help to make this dream come true for Lewis. Every donation — big or small — brings us closer to giving him the support and independence he deserves.
How You Can Help:
• Donate whatever amount you can — it all adds up!
• Share this fundraiser with your friends, family, and social media networks.
• Keep Lewis and his future furry friend in your thoughts.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for helping us bring Lewis’s service dog home. You’re not just giving him a companion… you’re giving him confidence, safety, and a friend who understands him completely.
❤️ Let’s get Lewis his dog! ❤️
