Two years ago, we united to raise funds for a critical scoliosis surgery for Lewhat Dawit, the beloved daughter of Tekleweni Eyassu and Dawit Gebrezgeabhier from Asmara, Eritrea. Today, Lewhat is a bright, energetic nine-year-old with a straighter spine and far less pain. Yet, as her doctors predicted, she now needs a follow-up surgery to adjust the rods in her back as she continues to grow.
