Help Lew With Life Saving Heart Surgery

Hi Everyone,
We are raising funds for my sister, Lacey Mcelfresh's family. My nephew, Lew is only 12 year’s old and is fighting for his life. He will need to have heart surgery.
Lew saw his doctor on 11-3-20 because of pain and was not eating also felt nauseous and dizzy. Doctor instructed his mom to take him straight to Bronson ER.
After numerous tests, CT scan, x-rays, ultrasound and blood work, they determined it to be bacterial endocarditis. This is an infection caused by bacteria that enter the bloodstream and settle in the heart lining, a heart valve or a blood vessel. In Lew's case it's in his heart valve. Doctors do not know the cause of the infection at this point. Due to this infection he has a heart perforation. He now must have surgery to repair his heart. Doctors were planning to keep him in the ICU for 4 weeks to fight the infection before he has the surgery. However, within a stort time of starting antibiotics doctors have determined the surgery can't wait. They want to move him to Ann Arbor ASAP!
My sister has 2 young children at home and she is due with their 4th child next month. My sister and her husband, Lewis will need to travel back and forth to Ann Arbor while still caring for Lew's siblings. These funds will help the family with everything while Lew battles for his life.
