Our dear friend Levi is in need of new housing. Unfortunately due to unsafe conditions, Levi had to leave their current housing and are in search of a safe and stable living situation.
As most of you know, Levi is an incredible nightlife personality and above that- a powerful community advocate for the Black LGBTQ community as well as Queer homeless youth. Levi has spent a majority of their life here in San Francisco fighting to uplift those who did not have a voice in our community. They have tirelessly brought their efforts to the forefront of our streets, clubs, and gathering spaces.
As someone who has had the honor of working with Levi through The Castro LGBTQ Cultural District Advisory Board- I have seen the incredible work, care, and kindness that Levi pours out to others.
I and others created this campaign to give back and show our support to Levi, who deserves a safe space to call home, as they fight tirelessly to create that for others. We hope that you may show your support to Levi as well and have our community rally behind them.
The funds from this will go directly to Levi, and will help in paying a security deposit and rent for a new space. We would like to give these funds to them ASAP as currently they are in need of stable housing.
From U. Sacred Mitchell: "Levi has honestly been an inspiration to me for quite a few years now; and has often reminded me of the young, passionate, and prolific civil rights activists that would've marched alongside Marsha P. Johnson, Angela Davis, Bayard Rustin, and the like...dedicating so much of themself to radical education, enlightenment, and advocacy. Although Levi is younger than myself and many of us, I find, myself floored at the amount of wisdom that pours out of their mouth when moved to action, around almost any subject you could think of...this part-time disco dancing kween. But the devastating, unspoken fact of the matter, which is often ignored, is that it's rare that a Black intellectual is compensated for their enlightening contributions & educational labor, even as their words have inspired actions and policy that improve the quality of life for so many. And it is my hope that those that find themselves on this page will not fall in line with that status quo in this time of Levi's need."
