Hi my name is Leticia and I am 22 years old. My friend Abigail (29) and I were relentlessly attacked, beaten and ran over by a random man in the Walmart parking lot unprovoked on October 28th. As a result of this, we both sustained serious bodily injuries including a punctured lung, 3 broken ribs, 2 broken toes, a broken nose, a broken knee, teeth damage, and a concussion. We have also been put out of work due to the inability to function because of the injuries. We now are in a hole with medical expenses and daily costs of living.
When the altercation began, we could have never foreseen it ending in disaster. A man approached us quickly in the parking lot asking if we "wanted to go" and started accusing us of hitting him, holding up his fists. We had never met him or even had a conversation with him prior to this experience. He then began punching Abigail in the face repeatedly. We tried to diffuse the situation as we did not want to fight a large man and he insisted on continuing to attack and threaten us. He said "do something then bi*ch" and swung again and again. There were many people trying to calm him down and hold him back but he would not budge. He pushed past them and continued to punch both of us in the face multiple times. He then got in his vehicle and proceeded to chase us down with it. In desperation to get to our vehicle, we ran in between the parked cars to get away. He swerved his car into our direction and slammed in to the car beside us. As a result, I got pinned in between 2 cars and Abigail was hit by the front and flung across the pavement.
He took off as soon as he heard the sirens pull in to the parking lot, almost hitting other uninvolved pedestrians while trying to flee the scene.
This GoFundMe will help cover medical expenses, daily expenses while in recovery, and lawyer fees. We are grateful to be alive and any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
