This is my friend Leslie who is in need of urgent help. The big C word everyone knows, no one likes it, but here we are. Leslie Paiz has been diagnosed with lung cancer after having difficulty breathing for some time. She needs to have an emergency thoracoscopy and start treatment as soon as possible.

This is a very difficult situation for her and her kids, Pablo and Sara, a beautiful girl with special needs, as she is a brave single mom and sole support for her family. There is no insurance available and funds are needed to cover surgery and treatment afterward. The nature of Guatemala´s health care system, worsened by COVID, places financial obstacles for her during this difficult life challenge. Leslie won´t be able to work for an undetermined amount of time and treatment costs put a ton of financial stress solely on her and her son and treatment is urgent.
