My name is Leslie and I was in a car accident the Monday before Thanksgiving 2025. My car flipped and the seat belt fractured and overlapped my left clavicle. On January 28, 2026, I finally had surgery to repair the damage with a titanium alloy plate and screws. After weeks of Calcium and Vitamin D supplements and 6 weeks for physical therapy twice a week, I was cleared to go back to work without restrictions on March 26, 2026. On April 15, 2026 my plate broke while I was at work. I went to the hospital and had X-rays done. The plate broke just past the midsection at one of the screws. Due to the way the plate broke and how it moves inward toward my neck and causing significant range restriction and immense pain, I have to have surgery to have the broken plate removed. Surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026. At that time, I will be having a bone graft done and a larger plate put in the place of the current broken one. The surgeon said, "You will be looking at a long recovery." I am looking at 4-6 months down. He believes that the clavicle break wasn't completely healed and the repeated use and strain gradually wore down the plate until it finally gave. I am completely devastated to say the least and financially drained from the down-time from the first surgery. I've been selling personal property to put towards bills but it's not enough to get me through. The stress and anxiety are unreal and I am please asking for your help. Any amount is beneficial and appreciated.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
