Help Leslie Recover from Brain Aneurysm & Stroke
Donation protected
Hello everyone! We’re starting this GoFundMe for my sister, Leslie, who recently suffered a hemorrhagic stroke caused by a ruptured brain aneurysm. This has left her with decreased function in mobility and balance, requiring a cane to walk, and substantial neurological deficits. The excruciating and persistent headaches make it nearly impossible to look at computer screens for an extended period of time, which means her future in her current field of employment is uncertain.
As she begins her road to recovery, she needs the financial breathing room to allow her the time and space to focus on regaining her abilities, particularly because she will not be able to return to full time work. Any funds generated will be used for medical bills (which we know are going to be very significant) and living expenses.
She recently went through a tough divorce and just relocated from Texas to Seattle, by herself. She really needs all the extra support we can give her right now.
A few things about her:
- Leslie has been a grief & crisis counselor for trafficked children & young women for more than 10 years. Her individual work is strictly pro bono and also through a nonprofit organization. This is her passion, and she dedicates a great deal of her free time to it.
- She’s been a surgery scheduler and patient care coordinator for 25 years. Leslie enjoys being on the front lines in healthcare, and treats every patient the way she would want her family to be treated.
- She has a sweet rescue chiweenie named Harley who is elderly & disabled. He’s been her emotional support animal through all of this and she now requires weekly help with him.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for anything you’re able to give, any share you can post, and any word you can spread. Coming together when times are toughest is a shared humanity we hold close and are thankful to be part of.
