Hi, my name is Leslie and I was diagnosed with NSCLC Stage 4 Exon 21 L858R Andicarcinoma Lung Cancer with metastasis to my spine, clavicle, ribs, pelvis, thigh and most recently progression re: same to my right auxiliary lymph node(s) and skull bone (yuck - I now have holes in my skull bone - ewwww!!!). I have been on a life-saving drug, Tagrisso, for the past 2 years under a program called AZ&Me. Tagrisso is a TKI (targeted drug - pill I take every night) that is supposed to target the specific genetic mutation of cancer I have and keep it from growing/spreading. I originally qualified for Astra Zeneca’s AZ&Me program which covered the monthly cost(s) of this very specific drug; however, as of 2024, their qualifications for the program changed, and I no longer “qualify” for this life-saving(s) drug program.

This Go Fund Me Page was started because of my need and ask for your generous help in my paying out-of-pocket costs for this life-saving drug. As of last week, Chemo and brain radiation were also added to my treatment protocol, but I still need to remain on Tagrisso which has been working to stop the cancer growth in my bones.

With all your help and His/Her grace, my goal for 2024 has been met - UNBELIEVABLE!!! Just in 4 days!!!!! I really can’t say thank you loud enough! I CAN NOW continue receiving the medication from Astra Zeneca and NOW I CAN AND WILL pay out-of-pocket costs for me to continue receiving/taking this drug going forwards and into the calendar year including 2025! I COULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT YOU and I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT!!! THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart. I am eternally grateful and will always be so.

I’m going to leave this fund open for now and if/when funds continue to come in above and beyond this point, all will be used for upcoming medical expenses only .. the good folks at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa are taking very good care of me and I credit them, too, of course, for keeping me alive this long! Two years ago I would not have imagined I would be here today and out of pain (especially out of pain - holy Molly - I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN UNTIL THEY FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHAT THE HECK WAS GOING ON AND PRIOR TO BEING DIAGNOSED!!)! I thank Moffitt and Astra Zeneca for working together to keep me going and out of pain thus far AND NOW ALL YOU GOOD FOLKS ARE ADDED TO THE MIX — again, TOGETHER WE ARE ALWAYS STRONGER AND TOGETHER WE CAN FIGHT FOR THE WIN!!

My hope is that while being treated and on this drug (and more drugs to come down the pike when/if needed) I will be part of the bigger picture re: what could possibly be further research with a hope of a cure for this horrible disease that affects us all in one way or another - that would make me happy - knowing that in some small way I was able to contribute to ongoing data/research that can and will help others down the road. That would definitely make this journey worth it, don’t you think?
