My name is Leslie, and I am a recent graduate with a passion for light design. I was recently accepted by USITT to be a conference assistant at their upcoming event in California—an incredible opportunity to connect with leaders in my field and take the next step in my career. As someone just starting out, this chance means the world to me, but it also comes with significant expenses. I am responsible for covering my flight, meals, housing, and any workshop opportunities that will help me grow as a lighting designer.

On top of this, I have also been accepted to participate in the KCACTF REGION 6 competition in Abilene, TX, for the last production I worked on before graduating. Preparing for this competition is my main focus right now, and it leaves me with little time to work and save up for the upcoming internship. The USITT internship is unpaid and designed to help me build connections and gain hands-on experience, so being able to attend workshops and fully participate would be a dream come true.
