Hello, my name is Leo and I started this GoFundMe for my father’s funeral and memorial services. On Jan 20th, my father was found on the floor of his house, cold and breathless. My family does not know how it happened, but we’re all assuming he slipped and hit his head on the wood of the couch where he used to sit. Batteries were found scattered on the floor; I assumed he wanted to change the batteries of the remote to the TV in his room. Medics showed up and said that there was nothing left to do. An autopsy has been requested by the justice of the peace of Eagle Pass but has been delayed due to the cold weather.

My dad was a very reserved man. He kept to himself a lot and only shared with those who he trusted. He grew up in a family of seven, all boys. He enjoyed playing basketball; Michael Jordan was his favorite. He and an uncle (his brother) would be referees at basketball games in Piedras Negras, Coahuila city, where they were born. My dad was a teacher at an elementary school in Piedras Negras; if I’m not mistaken, he taught 4th grade. He later retired in 2008.

My family, my brother, and myself are asking for some help. Whatever contributions are received are greatly appreciated. These are hard times, but I know my mother, my brother, and I will come out strong.
