On January 15, my good friend Leonie, a dedicated single mom of two, was working from her recently purchased home in Managua. Her children suddenly cried out for help from their bedroom. She ran into the room and saw flames leap out of the ceiling fan and quickly spread to the bed her children were on.
She grabbed her two children in a panic and ran outside to safety. Her neighbors quickly responded to her cries for help and the entire neighborhood came together to put the fire out. The fire rescue crew arrived but not before everything in her home was reduced to ashes.
Thankfully they were not harmed by the fire and are in good spirits, including the children. However, they did lose everything they owned , including their appliances, kitchenware clothing, school supplies, toys.
Besides the fire damage restoration cost, I'd like to help her purchase appliances, beds, and everything Leonie and her kids Keevionie and Keever will need to return to normal life.
