Help Leola recover

Imagine one of the most exciting periods of your life being ripped away from you and the only thing you can do is lay there; in a pool of your own blood realizing you’ve lost your baby boy. Now imagine having to endure this twice. This is what my co-worker and friend Leola had to experience living with a non-cancerous tumor. Leola was told the tumor would not grow or bring her or her future child(ren) any harm; in February 2020 she realized how wrong her physician was. Not only did it grow but it sucked the life out of her son 7 months into her pregnancy. Today the tumor continues to grow(now the size of a melon) causing more health issues, pushing against major organs, causing constant bleeding and blood clots along with a list of other plights. Having survived Hodgkins Lymphoma, Leola thought her battle with major health issues would be over as long as she “did everything right” to take care of herself. Unfortunately, this is another hurdle she has to face. Luckily, Leola has finally found a physician with a team that has put her needs and wants first and will have surgery July of this year. The unfortunate part is Leola’s recovery is a guesstimated 8-10 weeks because she has to have a two-part surgery. Our job does not extend the grace of short-term disability so my friends this is where you come in.

Leola is one of the most selfless, hardworking, loving, supportive, and understanding woman that I have ever met. She shows up for people no matter what, and listens to others feelings regardless of what she has going on. Even through this all she has remained positive, remained active and has pushed her body to the limit by working multiple jobs and almost all hours of the day. She puts everyone above herself and all I want is for her to be able to recover in peace, without the worry of financial stress hanging over her. If anyone deserves that, it is her.
