Friends and family,

I come to you today on behalf of my dad, Leo Silva, who has been in the hospital since July 6th. As all of you know, my father has worked as a truck driver for well over 20 years. Most of the companies he has worked for are small local companies and do not offer any kind of health insurance, he also supports my grandmother, who lives with him.

In March 2021, my dad started complaining of excruciating pain – so bad that he couldn’t lay down to sleep at night nor could he drive any longer. My grandma and his girlfriend took him to the doctor and hospital on several occasions between March and July, but were sent home with no real diagnosis. On July 6th, they attempted to take my dad to the hospital again and was turned away because he didn’t have insurance nor did he have money to pay … again, he hadn’t worked since March due to his condition.

My grandmother ended up having to call an ambulance, and he was transported to the hospital where he has been since July 6th. His health has been quickly declining, and thus far, no medical treatments have been given to him other than medication to alleviate his pain. It is important that we get him started on a treatment plan as soon as possible, as we are afraid he is becoming too weak. I humbly come to you to ask for your help in helping to raise money to help him pay for his treatment and other bills he has accrued since March.

We will also be organizing a Benefit BBQ on August 7th, but in the interim, we want to make sure that some of the worries and burdens are lifted off his shoulders to give him time to concentrate on getting well. Please either donate through this page or my CashApp $lorenasilva530
