Due to cancer Leo crossed over the rainbow peacefully on Nov 13, 2024.
Meet Leo, a handsome orange tabby, with an inspiring spirit and a sad story. I named him "Mr. Orange" when he first started coming into my cat feeding place looking for a meal at random times, and then he'd disappear for days. Secretly, I was hoping that someone was feeding him because unlike most of the other strays, Leo was not afraid of humans. He meowed and looked for pets, immediately capturing my heart with his harmless, friendly nature.
But up close, I saw the tragic truth: Leo was emaciated, just a skeleton; he looked so frail, weak, and probably anemic-maybe previously somebody's pet abandoned. He hardly ate anything when I was able to feed him. He refused the dry food. He looked a bit worn out every time I saw him. I knew that he did not belong in the streets, and he was in danger if not helped.
Finally, on November 3rd at about 1 am in the still of the night, Leo was too weak to run or resist. After he showed up at my driveway I carried him home half a block cradled in my arms, this treasure.
Now Leo is safe with me, and he will never have to worry about food, shelter, or love again. I promise to give him a chance at health and happiness, which he deserves.
First things first, we need to get Leo to the vet so that his immediate health needs - exams, blood tests, medicines, and supportive care - can be attended to.
Any help you can give in the mounting vet costs would be much appreciated. Every dollar will go toward giving Leo the medical care, nourishment, and comfort he needs to heal and thrive.
I will be posting regular updates on his progress and already there is quite a bit to share....
Leo's story began with hardship, but it can end in hope thanks to you. Please consider donating to help cover his vet bills and help him from the streets of Sacramento, CA into a life of health, safety, and love.
Thank you for being part of Leo's rescue and recovery. ❤️
With gratitude,
Ivailo
