Hello everyone, my name is Jess, and I’m asking for some help so I can assist my corgi in getting the surgery and testing he needs.
Leo is my 6-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He’s been my absolute best friend and light of my life since I went and picked him up from his farm in Spring Hill at 8 weeks old. I love him more than life itself.
Last month, we went to the dog park with his sister and he somehow got injured. I went to sit down at a bench and looked up, and he was limping severely. At first, I thought he stepped on a wasp or bee or had a rock stuck in his paw. I realized something was very wrong and rushed him to his vet. Leo hasn’t been able to walk properly for several weeks now. His vet prescribed him pain meds and anti-inflammatories, but nothing has helped him. Leo needs sedation, blood work, and X-rays to first figure out his true diagnosis. Suspicion would be his hips went out on him or he tore his ACL, both of which require surgery. Most recently, I was told that since he’s putting majority of pressure on one leg, his other one can fail on him as well if surgery isn’t done. I would do just about anything for both of my animals, but vet bills have been killing me and I unfortunately am unable to help my baby out at this moment as life has been kicking me down constantly. Anything can help and I appreciate even the slightest donation.
