i fear our son, Leo (Elio), has had to undergo [another] emergency surgery because he suddenly decided that Crocs are actually a tasty treat for cats. a whole 1.5 inch piece of Croc foam became lodged in his small intestine and required a enterotomy - a surgical procedure involving making an incision into the intestine - to remove it.

thankfully, the surgery went well and he is on the road to recovery - our bank account, not so much. between the ER visit, diagnostics, surgery, anesthesia, hospitalization, and follow up care, his medical bills have reached nearly $7,000.
