The Heart of Our Story
Leo is a bright, resilient 10-year-old living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). While Leo is a fighter, DMD is a progressive disorder that weakens his muscles every day. He still has some ability to walk, but his electric wheelchair is becoming his primary way to navigate the world. Within the next few years, that chair will be his only way to move—and right now, we have no way to transport it.
The Barrier We Face
Imagine having the "key" to your independence—Leo’s power chair—but being unable to take it past your own front door. Because we don't have an accessible vehicle, Leo is often left behind or restricted in where he can go. Simple family outings, trips to the park with his siblings, and even getting to medical appointments safely have become a massive logistical challenge.
The Goal: Freedom and Inclusion
We are fundraising to purchase a handicap-accessible vehicle. This isn’t just a van to us; it is a bridge to the world.
• Family Unity: It means Leo can join his brother and sister on every adventure, rather than watching from the window.
• Safety: It ensures he can get to his specialists and treatments without the physical strain of being lifted in and out of a standard car.
• Future Independence: As Leo grows, this vehicle will eventually allow him the chance to learn to drive himself, giving him a level of autonomy that every teenager deserves.
How You Can Help
These vehicles are incredibly expensive, and even a reliable used van is a major financial hurdle. We are asking for your help to get Leo back on the road.
• Donate: Any amount, no matter how small, goes directly toward the van fund.
• Share: If you can’t donate, please share our link. One share can reach a person we don’t know who might be able to help.
Thank you for being part of Leo’s journey and for helping him live life to the fullest.
