The Heart of Our Story Leo is a bright, resilient 10-year-old living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). While Leo is a fighter, DMD is a progressive disorder that weakens his muscles every day. He still has some ability to walk, but his electric wheelchair is becoming his primary way to navigate the world. Within the next few years, that chair will be his only way to move—and right now, we have no way to transport it. The Barrier We Face Imagine having the "key" to your independence—Leo’s power chair—but being unable to take it past your own front door. Because we don't have an accessible vehicle, Leo is often left behind or restricted in where he can go. Simple family outings, trips to the park with his siblings, and even getting to medical appointments safely have become a massive logistical challenge. The Goal: Freedom and Inclusion We are fundraising to purchase a handicap-accessible vehicle.
