Help Leo fund his Geek Retreat cafe

What’s wrong with the title photo? All those games are closed. No ones playing with them. COVID has shut us away from each other and stopped us sharing adventures and moments together. As shutdown eases I want to bring us back together again in the best way possible. I want to open a Geek Retreat venue. A safe space to come and play and be. Share a coffee and a boardgame or just come and hang out. 

I need help though. I need the funds to set it up. That’s what this go fund me is for. To help with the initial costs of buying the franchise and setting up a venue of my own.

The franchise is called Geek Retreat and that’s what I’d be. A cafe serving coffee and cakes and a space to play boardgames from our own library or buy games for you to take gone with you. There will be people to talk to who can help you learn how to play and coffee on tap. Or tea if that’s you beverage.

So what do I need? Well to start I need £3500 to reserve the area I want to set up in. I’m looking at Wolverhampton as my location at the moment. Then a further £3500 to confirm and buy the franchise. 

That will get me access to Geek Retreats resources and suppliers to set up and runthe venue. The cost of set up will depend on the venue we find but that’s what the rest of the fund I raise will be towards.

A little about me and my ability to run this enterprise. I have years of experience inretail and customer service and as a barista managing cafe outlets for Hotel Chocolat when they still had them. I’m a long time gamer and geek and work as a demoer for one of the countries biggest gaming and hobbycraft companies. I run my own weekly gaming group and hosted several international tabletop days when we were able to.
