Help Leo Attend FFA National Convention

Donation protected
Leo is looking for help to go to FFA National Convention this year for Leadership Training. He will be representing his high school (CRHS) FFA Chapter as a new Sentinel this year. The convention is held in Indianapolis on October 28th.

This is Leo's 3rd year in FFA. He was awarded his Blue Jacket last year and voted in as Sentinel. He is studying Agricultural Sciences. Last year, Leo went to his first state competition and placed 7th in the Forestry competition out of 20+ groups. While that might not seem as impressive to some, this was a great achievement on his behalf, acting solo with only paper and pencil, in what was supposed to be a group of four armed with a calculator. The judges were very impressed with his strength and determination.

Leo has a passion for the world of Agriculture, Forestry, and Geology. He does a lot of local volunteer work with his Scout Troop (Troop One Bridgeton), Order of the Arrow, Parvin State Park Appreciation Committee, and Edelman Fossil Museum. He hopes to continue his education and leadership skills to hopefully one day work in the industry of his studies.

He is very active in the community and has his own small lawn care business in our neighborhood. He frequently helps neighbors with mowing, weeding, gardening, leaf removal, snow removal, and the occasional taking care of chickens in the summer.

He is extremely excited for the opportunity to go to the national convention this year as it is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills. The total cost of the trip is $1,200 for travel and stay (not including food or extras). He is looking for help to continue to raise funds. He has saved $100 for the down deposit but could really use some help. The school suggested asking local businesses and the community for help. They will give a small donation as long as he is active in fundraising. He also earns $1 for every mum he sells. Unfortunately, on that alone, funds fall short.

Leo's family, unfortunately, is faced with a difficult decision. We are responsible for 100% of the payment after his $100 down payment. This trip would be extremely difficult for his family to help him cover as his father is on permanent disability for Progressive MS and his mother is the sole caretaker of his father. The financial situation is extremely tight as they can currently only cover bills, medications, and food.

Every little bit counts. Even if it's a share. This young man deserves to experience a chance to better his education for a brighter future. He is a great young man who is so helpful in the community. Please help him reach his goal if you can.
Thank you!

UPDATE: Leo's cost for the trip is now completely covered. Thank you all for your kindness and generosity. His only responsibilities of cost is for meals during his stay. Thank you for helping Leo have an experience of a lifetime.
